| Excursion overview | | No visit to Crete is complete without a visit to this fabulous site. The royal palace with its 1400 rooms dates back some 4000 years was the home of king Minos, ruler of the Minoans, a peace loving people who occupied Crete for 1500 years.
Knossos is the site of the Labyrinth where Theseus slew the Minotaur. Excavated in the beginning of the 20th century it is one of the most important sites in whole Greece.
After Knossos a visit to the Archeological Museum of Heraklio will reveal a big collection of Minoan relics. |
