| Myrtos. Relax & Enjoy the Sea |
| Photo gallery | | | | | | | Destination Overview | The Libean Sea covers the south of Myrtos village, towards a long sandy beach which spreads until the end of the local road and splits into isolated little bays.
Blue and red are the main colours of the sky. However, if one stands to a high spot and looks in front, he realises that the sea loks like the extend of the horizon. Blue that turns into red during one of the most magnificent sunsets to be seen.
Although it's off the beaten tourist track, the little coastal hamlet of Myrtos does have one claim to fame - it's the most southerly settlement in the whole of Greece.
Reached by a turning off the south coast road, 16 kilometres west of Ierapetra, the village's long shingle and pebble beach looks out over the wine-dark Libyan Sea towards north Africa. Popular with the Greeks themselves as a beachside retreat away from the crowds. Myrtos has a sleepy feel for most of the summer. | | Accommodation in Myrtos | | | |
